  • Business Resumes in July

I hesitate to say it, for fear it is bad “ju-ju”, but things really picked up in the month of July.  It was as if we were right back in the middle of last Summer, before the financial crisis and all the other economic mess.  The calls poured in, the clients made their way into the office, and contracts were signed!  I hope our business was representative of other Austin businesses.  I often ask retailers how business has been, and most of them reported that July was a little better than previous months.  This is certainly not a scientific measure, but it is something.  If housing leads the Economy out of recession (so says CNBC), then I hope we are being led out.

We can’t be unrealistic, of course.  Even if things begin to pick up again, we will most likely see a lull in the Fall months which is typical of the real estate business…and it may not be a full-scale recovery if the stock market makes another downward move.  So, while I hope this is an indicator of what is to come, for now I’m just thankful for this awesome month!

    • Glad to hear business is picking up where it left off. I feel that we dodged a huge storm here in Austin, and in particular in the West Austin area.
